GoldRush apples were developed by the University of Purdue as an apple for fresh eating. They have a very pleasant Golden Delicious-like aroma, but way more acid, sugar, and even tannin. The Mid-Atlantic grows GoldRush very well and our region has become known for growing it. GoldRush keeps forever in the fridge, making it an ideal apple for both farmer’s markets and cider production January – July. It’s crunchy texture, pretty appearance, ability not to brown (think salads!), and outstanding flavor make it a first class apple. ANXO buys close to a half million pounds of local GoldRush a year and we are excited to share it with you!
Our flagship cider, Cidre Blanc, is 100% GoldRush apples!
